Dr. Kathleen Rokavec has been working in and around hospitals for over 25 years. Before going to medical school she worked as a paramedic and a nurse. She is Board Certified in Family Medicine and had a traditional office practice for 6 years, even delivering babies! She then transitioned to hospital medicine only in 2003, starting the first rural Hospitalist program in Pennsylvania.
As a Hospitalist she has learned the inner workings of every aspect of every hospital department. She has also served as a Vice President of the hospital Board of Directors and as the Medical Director for a Geriatric Psychiatric Unit.
Dr. Rokavec understands how the system works and she wants to share this information with patients and their families so that they can "survive" their hospital stay and get the best care possible!
